Destination Canada Partners with Australian Tourism Experts to Strengthen Connections in Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Ontario – Here’s What You Need to Know

In early October 2025, a select group from the Destination Canada Australian Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) embarked on a trip to Canada, particularly focusing on the dynamic tourism landscape of Ontario and the iconic  Niagara Falls. Their visit aimed at strengthening partnerships and collaborating on a shared vision of sustainable, regenerative tourism. The group not only gained valuable insights into Canada’s evolving tourism industry but also explored indigenous-led experiences and sustainability-driven initiatives. The event highlighted how cross-market cooperation between Australia and Canada could transform the tourism sector into a more environmentally responsible and culturally enriching experience for travelers.

A Focus on Sustainable and Regenerative Travel

Sustainability was at the forefront of the group’s discussions, with several initiatives featured throughout the trip. Notably, a farm-to-table experience at Elmhirst’s Resort, which holds a Platinum certification under the Sustainable Tourism 2030 program, highlighted how tourism can contribute to sustainable agriculture and local food systems.
