Guest Sustainability Pledge
Protecting Rice Lake and our surroundings, one simple choice at a time. Join us in caring for this place.
At Elmhirst’s Resort, we are committed to protecting our beautiful natural surroundings and supporting our local community. As a valued guest, you can help us make a positive impact by adopting simple yet meaningful sustainable practices during your stay.
I agree to:
Respect Nature & Wildlife
- Stay on designated trails and paths to protect local ecosystems.
- Observe wildlife from a distance and never feed or disturb animals.
- Avoid picking plants, shells, or other natural elements.
Conserve Water & Energy
- Reuse towels and linens to reduce water and energy consumption.
- Turn off lights, air conditioning, and electronics when not in use.
- Take shorter showers and report any leaks or dripping faucets.
Reduce Waste & Plastic Use
- Use refillable water bottles and say no to single-use plastics.
- Sort waste correctly using recycling and compost bins.
- Participate in resort-led cleanups or sustainable activities when possible.
Support Local Communities & Culture
- Shop local and support artisans, farmers, and businesses.
- Respect cultural heritage sites and engage with the community with curiosity, kindness and compassion.
- Be mindful of noise levels and maintain a peaceful environment for all guests.
By making these small but powerful choices, I contribute to a more sustainable and responsible way of traveling.
