Summer 2018 – A Recap
The days are getting shorter, and there is definitely a chill in the air as the kids head back to school and the leaves begin to change colour. It’s hard to believe it’s over, but another busy summer season of Cottage Resort life has passed. We are busily planning some exciting events and specials for Fall and Winter, but before the summer vibes are completely gone, we wanted to share a recap of some of the best of the summer of 2018.
There is always so much to do at Elmhirst’s, and this summer was no exception! Our weekly Live Music on the Boardwalk featured a different artist each week, and was accompanied by great Smoked BBQ buffet. The weather was in our favour this year, and we had some great performances on the boardwalk overlooking Rice Lake.
Our vegetable garden had a glorious season and our kitchen was supplied with vegetables and herbs grown right here on our property. In fact, we had more #ElmhirstsOwn tomatoes this year than we were even able to use, and were thrilled to be able to donate the extra to a local charity, the Peterborough Youth Emergency Shelter. #ElmhirstEat

Each week, Alex, our Experience Concierge, kept the guests busy with a weekly recreation schedule. Posted in our lobby and on our website, guests could easily find out what was going on each day. Annual favourites like daily tubing and waterskiing and the weekly fishing derby were as popular as ever. There were also some new activities on the schedule this year – including archery, cardboard boat building and even a special cooking class for adults while the kids could enjoy craft time with Alex. #ElmhirstPlay
