āAnd all at once, summer collapsed into fallā¦ā

A message from Greg Elmhirst of Elmhirstās Resort.
As we count our blessings this Thanksgiving Day, we also count ourselves extremely lucky to have guests like you. Thank you for your continued support and for making a challenging year into a pleasurable one.
I also thought that this was a good chance to give you an update on our property here. We are several months into reopening after a closure and new health and safety measures due to COVID 19. We have had to reimagine and reframe a lot of the experiences here, and in the beginning, we werenāt certain that our core offering of a relaxed getaway could be achieved. But, after several months and a busy summer, we have learned a lot. We have successfully been able re-do a lot of our favourite experiences so our guests can truly enjoy them while being completely safe. With just a bit of time, effort, and scheduling along with some new communication tools that we have implemented in order to make things more convenient for our guests, delivering the Elmhirstās Experience has been working very well.
We have even been able to launch some new experiences this summer, which we are very proud of.Ā We have partnered with some great tourism providers in our community on a collaboration basis. The Peterborough Axe Club provided Axe throwing competitions on our weekly summer recreation schedule for our guests.Ā We were also able to reframe some of our favourite dining experiences like Sunday Brunch and the Saturday Roast Beef buffet into brand new experiences that will continue into the fall and winter. We have also opened The Escape Maze at Elmhirstās, which is a brand new outdoor adventure game that we created in conjunction with Escape Maze incorporated, and we are really proud of the result.
When we re-opened in June, we really didnāt know what to expect. We have been overwhelmed by how many guests have chosen to visit us at Elmhirstās for their family vacations. From returning guests to new guests, we have enjoyed meeting every single one.
Upon reopening in June, our goal was to set a standard for safety, cleanliness and comfort in our cottages that was as good or better than any other accommodation anywhere, and we are very pleased with the results. We have also been overwhelmed with the response. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for coming to join us. Thank you also for taking all the new safety measures in stride, and it has been really wonderful to see families enjoying themselves together on the shores of Rice Lake here at Elmhirstās Resort. It was a season far better than we could have anticipated, and we are extremely grateful.
We wish you a vey happy thanksgiving and we wish you continued health and safety in 2020.
