Family Day Weekend was off to a flying start on Saturday with lots of smiling faces enjoying everything from cookie decorating and colouring in the morning to a horse drawn sleigh ride with our Clydesdales, Bob and Mac. The lake was active with ice fishing and even guests arriving by airplane on skis to enjoy the upcoming music in the Pub.
Buzzing jugs, harmonicas, banjo, harmonized voices and a washtub bass. Our Family Day guests were treated with some jamming jug band music on Saturday afternoon from the ever lovin’ local Peterborough band, Blues in the Bottle.
Join us this Saturday February 24th for the Phoxy Music duet, who will finish off our season of winter music.
On Sunday, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day, a comfortable +2C temperature with a partly cloudy Kawartha sky. We had a full house for today’s Sunday Brunch, with many of our guests heading down afterwards to the lake to take part in guided ice fishing. Our Sous Chef, Jeff Curtis, took cooking ‘al fresco’ to new heights offering our guests our take on Beaver Tails, and fried fish sandwiches with coleslaw and tartar sauce. Delicious hot cocoa helped keep the chill off while waiting for the fish to bite.
Thank you to all the families who stopped by to spend time with our team this Family Day Weekend.
