Family Day 2016

With frigid temperatures and some snow squalls, Family Day weekend had some extreme examples of Ontario Winter weather.  We made the best of everything that Winter on Rice Lake has to offer, and we had lots of families enjoy it with us!

There were activities going all weekend to keep our guests well fed, entertained and active – and despite the cold temperatures, outdoor activities were more popular than ever!

Our warm and cozy cottages welcomed many families and groups this weekend – the fireplaces were kept blazing with real wood burning fires for an extra cozy feel.
Getting bundled up to head outside in the sub -25 temperatures was worth it to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine, a little tobogganing, sleigh rides behind our team of Clydes, skating on the lake or some ice fishing.

For those who stayed indoors, there was entertainment and activities for the whole family. We decorated Valentine’s Day cookies, made heart shaped pizzas, and held a combat theatre class! Winona Wilde wrapped up a busy Saturday afternoon by entertaining our guests with her folk, country blues performance in The Wild Blue.
