What is your maximum capacity?

The Enterprise Room and the Heritage Room (in main building) are suitable for 120 persons at a sit down dinner. Buffets for 100 are comfortable. The Conservatory Room with greenhouse is suitable for 80 persons. Ceremonies for up to 40 are possible in the Conservatory.

May we book our ceremony at the resort?

Yes, we have several options for ceremonies: our outdoor boardwalk area overlooks Rice Lake; the gardens at the Conservatory or the Greenhouse, or outdoors at the stables (hilltop). Indoors we offer 4 suitable rooms with for 10-100 persons.

Must we book cottages in order to have our wedding at the Resort?

No, cottage rental is not necessary. Certain dates may be available for rental, however, our cottage rentals require a two night minimum and many peak dates are not available.

Are there areas for photographs on the Resort?

Several options are available – the boardwalk, the gardens, the hearth in the Hearthside Room, the outdoor pool area, the stables, docks and wooded areas.

Is it possible to bring our own food or wine?

Elmhirst’s Resort is a licensed facility requiring us to serve all beverages; should you wish to serve a wine not on our current wine list we can order specially. We do not rent banquet halls for individuals to cater so all food services must be purchased from the Resort.

What about wedding cakes?

Wedding cakes may be brought in, however, they do not travel well and we Recommend you order your cake from our Pastry Chef on site.

Do you provide decorations?

As each wedding is unique we leave the décor to you – please note our rooms are tastefully decorated and any damages as a result of additional decorating will be charged. Usually brides prefer to look at table centerpieces and linens to create an ambience.

Are there any special features unique to Elmhirst’s Resort?

We offer horsedrawn wedding carriage rides for brides on arrival or for entertaining guests during the photography session. Floatplane flights for grooms arriving at the ceremony or newlyweds departing may be booked. We offer cruises on our Victory Boat as well. Prices are available on request.

What will our wedding cost?

Our prices for ceremonies, dinner and dance are quoted with taxes and service charge included to allow you to budget based on your invited numbers. Please call for estimates.
