Men in Trees

February 2, 2012

Trimming trees safely is a job for a trained arborist (professional trained in the planting, maintenance and removal of trees).  How fortunate we have trees that need maintenance and a group of arborist trainees on site…….the group is here for a  ”train the trainer” workshop.  Hailing from across Canada and the US, the team combine classroom and practical studies. Trimming the dead limbs, removing the less healthy trees from the shoreline and thinning out groves is hard work…..best left to the professionals.

I’m confused…..Punxsutawney Pete saw his shadow (meaning six weeks more of winter) while Wiarton Willie did not (meaning early spring).  What’s a girl to believe?  This conundrum should stimulate lots of cocktail and water cooler chatter. Either way, we are open for business!

Great Guys (and Gals?) If you are short of trees, there is a beauty of a maple on our shoreline that they are welcome to practise on! Go ahead …. please!
